Maine Vacation Rentals in Deer Isle & Stonington, ME

Summary: Andy and Amy Vaughn have two great Maine vacation rentals on the island of Deer Isle, ME. Deer Isle is a large island, accessible by bridge, at the mouth of the Penobscot Bay. The island is off the beaten path and yet there are a plethora of shops, galleries, harbors, coves, parks, and restaurants. Come discover why many people think that these communities are the best places in Maine during any season! You will find great scenery, golf, tennis, boating, fishing, lobsters and seafood, hiking, kayaks, canoes, bicycles, and much more.

Both of our houses are exceptional rentals. The locations are outstanding, and both are well-equipped and have new appliances and mattresses. We love to cook, so both houses have great kitchens that are well-stocked. The house in the Sunset area (on left above) is located near the Deer isle Yacht Club. This 4 BR , 1.5 bath house is found on a 3 acre lot on over 300 feet of a tidal cove and within 75 yards of a great beach near the Deer Isle Yacht Club. The Stonington house is a classic Victorian (5 BR and 2 full baths and 2 half baths) located in the heart of Stonington with a great view of the harbor and the islands to the south and west. The house is divided into units which can be rented separately or together. The front unit has 3 BR and 1.5 BA, and the rear unit has 2 BR and 1.5 baths. Both units have a complete kitchen. Stonington is home of one of the largest lobster fleets in Maine, and a frequent mooring spot for schooners and yachts during the summer and fall months. The front unit of the Stonington house was just been completely redone for the 2004 rental season. The rear unit is under renovation and will feature new everything!-- new kitchen, new 1.5 baths, new wood floors, new sheetrock downstairs and part of upstairs, etc. You can rent either side of the house, or we offer fabulous discounts if you rent both units (see details under the "rates and dates" link). Both front and rear units have great harbor views, and the rear unit even includes a 12 x 16 playhouse that could be used as an artist's studio (also with a view!).
